The Dakar Rally and its 8,000 kilometer course is hard enough on drivers and their chariots, but Spainard Jose Luis Alvarez Alarcon would have had an even more interesting go of it with this rally-ready version of the Smart ForTwo. Obviously, this compact German car was specially equipped with a modified body, an off-road suspension, a four-wheel drive system, and a totally re-worked inside cabin that effectively took this parallel parking champ and turned it into an ATV-like vehicle. It’s hard to say if it is more cool than it is cute, but one thing that is for sure is that the team unfortunately wasn’t able to raise enough money to fund their Dakar adventure. At least the driver in the video after the click seemed to have fun with it.
