Nike Kobe 8 System – “Year of the Snake” Collection

By - January 10th, 2013

Nike Kobe 8 System Year of the Snake Collection Since beginning the tradition back in 2002, Nike has found the Chinese zodiac has served as a great source of inspiration in designing new collections of footwear with unique looks and character. Now that we’re entering 2013, Nike completes the full zodiac cycle and is going big with the Nike Kobe 8 System as one of their primary delivery silos. It doesn’t hurt that Bryant’s on-court alter ego is “Black Mamba,” adding even more emphasis to the 3 snakeskin-coated low top models, which are seen in the brand’s signature colors of black, purple, red, and gold, both in their base look and their chosen accents. The shoe itself is offered in three builds, the first is made for the court with a black leather snake print while the second, coated in red suede with gold accents, is a subtle take on the theme. The final look, constructed with an red camo engineered mesh upper that represents the best in Nike’s Vac-Tech construction, is finished with laser etching at the heel cup and a full-length Lunarlon sole. No official release dates were connected with these preview shots, but you should expect to not have to wait to long given their new year inspiration.
