No, it isn’t ready yet. And it won’t be for the next year or two. But the Acura NSX Concept currently on the floor of Detroit Auto Show still garnered a sizable crowd. While the hybrid supercar made its official debut in last year’s show, the current mock-up on display will be the closest to the real thing.
Dynamic performance to come from a direct-injected V6 engine linked with Acura’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD, a three-motor system with one integrated with the V6 while two others power the front wheels. Like the NSX of previous generation, the majority of powerplant and drivetrain will be mid-mounted instead, to create the optimal control at high-speed. Designed around two themes – “Human Support Cockpit” and “Simple Sports Interface”, the interior is free of clutter. Streamlined to push button gear selector and digital display, an wide windshield provides a near perfect peripheral view for enjoyment and situation awareness. So will the Acura NSX Concept by worthy of Tony Stark? We will have to wait till the production model comes out.
