Aston Martin has revealed a first look at the more powerful and more dynamic successor to the Rapide, adding 80 horsepower to its powerhouse and affixing an “S” to the end of its title to mark its enhancements. Put together a new front end structure, new body panels, a lower chassis, and a new rear flip and the new Rapide S for 2013 results in a luxury auto with a dramatically enhanced aerodynamic profile. The interior is also improved, with seats and a cabin clothed in the finest materials including Bridge of Weir leather, glazed wood trim, and carbon fiber detailing, which come together to create an environment fitting of its expected $200k price tag. Last, but certainly not least, under the hood the new Rapide S has a powerful new 6.0 Liter V12 Gen 4 AM11 Rapide engine, which allows this four-door to claim the title as the fastest AM ever produced in this class, producing 550 horses and 457lb-ft of torque. Although this S is capable of hitting 60mph in 4.7 seconds, they’re expected to move even quicker off of the show room floors when they release next month.
