Apple has confirmed the imminent release of a 128GB version of the fourth-generation iPad with Retina display, effectively doubling the 64GB option, which to this point had been the largest storage option on the Apple tablet. The Wi-Fi-only iPad will retail for $799, while the cellular version carries a $929 price tag. The main features remain unchanged, meaning the 128GB iPad keeps the 9.7-inch Retina Display, FaceTime HD camera, and an A6X processor. Apple appears to be positioning the high-capacity iPad for use in the business market, stressing its potential for handling data-intensive materials such as 3D CAD files, X-rays, film edits, music tracks, and project blueprints. Expect the newest additions to the iPad family to launch next Tuesday, February 5th.
