Flanked by future hopefuls, Brazilian soccer star Neymar helped to unveil the new Brazil National Team Home Kit for 2013-2014 season earlier today. With Rio de Janeiro’s spectacular Copacabana beach front as the backdrop, the event was a part of “Batalha das Quadras”, or “Battle of the Court”, a temporary clinic for next generation’s players to sharpen their skills. It was the ideal venue for the public to see the new kit for first time since many soccer fans referred it as the “People’s Jersey.”
Linked by traditions, history, and innovations, the canary yellow jersey sports a classic rib collar in green with a V-shaped silhouette. Made with Nike Dri-FIT technology, the jersey is able to wick moisture better. Yet, its 23 percent lighter and 20 percent stronger than previous jersey. With lasered details and vents to further absorption of heat as well as regulation of body temperature. In reference to the national colors, the classic blue shorts are bonded along the sides also to enhance movement and ventilation. Finally, to uphold Nike’s commitment to the environment, each kit consists of over 90 percent recycled materials, or around 13 recycled plastic bottles. The Home Kit for Brazilian National Football Team will be available starting this Friday, February 1st, through select soccer retailers worldwide.
