Plenty of speculations have surfaced in regard to Samsung Mobile's big announcement during Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday night. Some theorized the so-called "El Plato Supreme" campaign to be unveiling of Galaxy Note 8, Samsung's new 8-inch tablet device. Others have wondered out loud about it being a teaser for Galaxy Note III or Galaxy S III. Then there is the recent statement by the company about its collaboration with the new creative director of fashion house Balenciaga, Alexander Wang.
Seen here with model/actress Zoe Kravitz, the winner of the 2008 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund will be designing a limited edition bag with inspirations from various outside inputs. Similar to a crowd-source design project, a group of stylists, photographers, and influencers, will then submit sketches, images, and ideas to Wang via their personalized Samsung Galaxy Note II. With them, Wang will create an exclusive bag design set to hit his boutiques and online store this coming summer. Portions of the proceeds will be going to Art Start, a New York City-base charity for at-risk children and teens. Who knows, maybe the name "El Plato Supreme" is only a diversion.
