adidas has unveiled BOOST, a revolutionary cushioning technology that provides the highest energy return in the running industry. Developed with BASF, the cushioning material that makes up the foundation for BOOST is formed by blowing up TPU into literally thousands of small energy capsules, which make up the footwear’s midsole. The cell structure of the capsules store and release energy with every stride, maintaining consistent performance levels through a variety of temperatures and conditions. BOOST technology will debut on the Energy Boost running shoe, leading the charge for a new adidas segment dubbed Energy Running. In addition to the groundbreaking midsole technology, the shoe will feature an upper built with highly durable and elastic polyurethane, providing optimal comfort and support to the entire foot. Breathable stretch mesh offers a sock-like snug fit, while engineered powerbands across the upper are good for targeted support and stability. Look for the Energy Boost to launch in stores February 27th.
