It might be the subject of Psy's addictive global sensation, but the trendy neighborhood of Gangnam in Seoul, South Korea, never experienced something quite like this. To fully demonstrate the explosive speed of its new Mercurial Vapor IX boots, Nike Soccer created a sort of "living billboard" near the Gangnam Metro Station. Billed as "Art of Mercurial IX", the installation is one of both multi-medium and multi-dimensional. Featuring an actual recreation of Nike "Vapor Trail," a new film staring soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, flash mobs along with squads of football freestylers and martial arts performers executed the reenactments to perfection, all without the usage of CGI. And in order to captivate the public's attention, Nike also staged a temporary pitch where bystanders can try on the Mercurial Vapor IX and take part in an obstacle challenge. The one with the fastest result for each day will receive a free new pair.
The Nike "Art of Mercurial IX" installation is currently at Seoul's Gangnam Metro Station with ongoing festivities during both daytime and night till this Saturday, February 23rd.
