To celebrate their second Dakar Rally victory in a row, MINI is releasing a special edition of their John Works Countryman. Driven to victory again by Frenchman Stéphane Peterhansel, a highly-modified MINI reached the finish line first during the arduous off-road race, marking Peterhansel’s 11th career victory behind the wheel, which will also mark the number of these highly limited customs will be built for exclusive sale in France. The exterior of the JCW Countryman is inspired by the colors of the Dakar-winning MINI ALL4 Racing, complete with a matte black body touched-up with bright green accents that continue inside and feature acknowledgements to the race and the driver on the hood. The lucky 11 owners will also get to experience the same turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that carried Peterhansel to victory with a 218 hp output and an all-wheel-drive system that can sprint to 60 mph in 7 seconds. A sports steering wheel, leather-trimmed bucket seats, and 19-inch light alloy wheels finish the launch. Expect to see more pictures and news about this compact powerhouse in the days to come after it makes an appearance in Geneva.
