On their way to a 99 – 93 win over the New York Knicks yesterday at Madison Square Garden, the Miami Heat – and all of South Florida watching at home — held their collective breath at the sight of LeBron James seemingly injuring his left knee in the third quarter. The concern was fleeting. Not only would LeBron end up punctuating the end of the game with a breakaway dunk off an errant pass from J.R. Smith, King James would hold Carmelo Anthony scoreless (and shotless) in the final four minutes and 52 seconds. It was the Heat’s fourteenth straight win, tying a franchise record and further extending LeBron’s potentially history-making level of play. During the game’s first half, LeBron wore a special edition pair of Nike LeBron Xs that, while not exactly history-making, were definitely eye-catching. The kicks were done up in a yellow and red colorway inspired by Carmex lip balm, complete with the brand name printed on the interior ankle. (Back in January, the fan who received a bear hug from LeBron after sinking a half-court shot had participated in the Carmex Half-Court Hero contest, an event arranged in partnership with LeBron and Carmex.) Check out more looks of the PE kicks in the gallery below.
