Because so much of their lives been shaped by other artists, designers, and influencers, Kyle and Shu-Chu Yamaguchi, the husband and wife team behind LOOK/SEE eyewear, decided to highlight some of their inspirations with the new Artist Series eyewear.
The series’ first design was from Barry Lai, founder of DESIGN REHAB in San Francisco. Both a design studio and creative consultancy, Lai and his firm have worked on everything from creation of types and logos to packaging, web design, even apparel. But it was his father’s many wood craft projects that triggered Lai’s creativity. In fact, it was the building of his first wooden drawing desk by his father that helped to set off Lai’s educational path as a designer. As tribute, Lai added some illustrated wood grain pattern onto the inner portion of his LOOK/SEE frame.
Since The Artist Series is about inspire and be inspired, 100% of the sales proceeds will be going to Urban Arts Partnership, a New York City-base charitable organization that advances creative developments in underserved public school systems.
Retails for $75 USD and limited to 100 pairs only, the LOOK/SEE x DESIGN REHAB eyewear is now available on LOOK/SEE online store.
