Currently in the midst of a large scale urban renewal project, it is likely you will not recognize Tokyo’s Shibuya Train Station a few years from now. With a large portion of the station decommissioned already and train services re-routed to underground lanes, Japanese retail giant UNIQLO thought of it as the perfect venue for its UNIQLO UT Pop-Up Store. Billed as the world’s largest UNIQLO UT store of its kind, the temporary retail concept effectively took over the station’s entire East Wing. Where the Tokyu Toyoko Line once ran, the vast space now houses over 1,000 UNIQLO UT T-Shirt styles, with an inventory of around 12,000 pieces. As an opportunity of a lifetime, UNIQLO will also utilize the store as a platform to launch 100 new designs in the coming days. The UNIQLO UT POP-UP! TYO at Shibuya Train Station opens today and will be ongoing till Sunday, April 7th. Also, be on the lookout for other UNIQLO UT POP-UP! in London, New York, Paris, and elsewhere later this year.
