Joining the already-packed high-end, luxury sedan party is this 2014 Maserati Ghibli, returning the model’s name plate back to its original long-nosed and fastbacked body. Scheduled to debut in Shanghai, Maserati is hoping that this ride returns consumers back to the brand who may have in the past strolled through a BMW or Audi showroom. While the carmaker is still holding many of its performance and tech specs close to their chest, it’s obvious that the driver who steps into the cabin will have an entirely luxurious experience, aside from the fact that they get the chance to control either a gas or diesel (a first for Maserati) turbocharged 3.0-liter V6. While a week to go ahead of its official debut isn’t that much of a tall order for us, Maserati’s goal of boosting their sales to 50,000 cars a year certainly is. And it looks like this latest Ghibli is a key part of executing that strategy.
