New Zealand’s Cassius is the brainchild of Jason Ng who decided it was time for an alternative to the luxury eyewear that has become – simply put – average. By putting an emphasis on proportion and harmony among the materials as the centerpiece of their design philosophy, Cassius believes their frames and their look should speak for themselves instead of just relying on a brand tag. For their Spring/Summer 2013 Eyewear Collection, the brand draws inspiration from architectural building materials such as concrete, glass, steel, and stone and a mixture of abstract colors and artwork to produce a refresh of their best-selling styles as well as several new additions including the Bayer, Corbu, Eichler, Kahn, Paxton, Tange, and Wexler. Each frame is handcrafted from the highest quality zyl acetate before being hand polished and coated with a UV400 protection. Supplies of each look are limited and are expected to release at Cassius retailers and online in the coming weeks.
