While oft overlooked in American punk music annal to the likes of New York Dolls and The Ramones, the influences of The Misfits actually transcend beyond music itself. Like the Sex Pistols in Great Britain, rocker/song writer Glenn Danzig and his band of merry troublemakers have reached into the collective consciousness of popular culture, evident by the later formations of bands such as Black Flag, Fishbone, and even the “devilock” hair style.
Similarly, the forthcoming collaborative effort between The Misfits and Supreme extrudes the same vibe. Seamlessly blend in to the surrounding of Los Angeles, the collection bears the Misfit’s skeletal hallmark from their 1979 Horror Business single along with other visual cues of something dark and mischievous. Available in the forms of trench coat, t-shirts, crew-neck sweats, short sleeves button-up, cap, badges, and lighter, the collection will be available starting this Thursday, April 18th, at Supreme’s NYC, LA and London locations, as well as its online store, follow by a Japan release on Saturday, April 20th.
