In planning FIFA 14, set to launch in the fall of this year, the game designers at EA made the conscious decision to emphasize how the modern game of football is played, highlighting build-up play and off-the-ball movement. To that end, the game will introduce a feature called Pure Shot, which allows players to adjust their run-up to the ball — including both the stride and approach angle — to find the best position for strikes that find the back of the net. Additionally, Real Ball Physics mean realistic trajectories affected by factors like drag, curve and spin. The result is a far greater variety of scoring options, ranging from low-flying screamers to shots that dip at the last minute. Check out the screen grabs in the gallery below, and look for FIFA 14 to be available this fall for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
