Spawned from the Madchester music scene of the late ’80s and early ’90s, The Stone Roses released their landmark self-titled debut album in 1989, earning both critical acclaim and breakout success. The fanfare was short-lived, however, as the band eventually imploded from infighting and contractual disputes with their record label. Their enduring popularity in the UK was confirmed by a 2006 NME poll that rated The Stone Roses as the greatest British album of all time, while rumors of an impending reunion continued to build steam. In 2011 the band officially announced the reforming of the band and subsequent live shows, all of which were captured by director Shane Meadows. The resulting documentary film, entitled “Made of Stone,” is set to release in the UK on June 5th. Check out the official trailer below.
