Never to do anything ordinary, the Beastie Boys have just penned a contract with Random House publishing to release a "multidimensional" tome documenting the unique history and personalities of the band, literally in their own words. The memoir itself will be structured as an oral history with a strong visual component, according to the group, which will be combined with contributions from other writers to document in the trio's 30-year career, culminating with their recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year. The plan was actually first hatched a few years back, but things were understandably put aside when Adam "MCA" Yauch was diagnosed with cancer leading to his passing last year, but the remaining members believe that now is the time to get the project done. As much as with their music, you can expect this memoir to be a rollercoaster of energy and class that will have you struggling to keep up. The plan is to release the final edition in the fall of 2015.
