Fresh on the heels of Jay-Z’s “100$ Bill,” another song from the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby adaptation has surfaced online. A cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” by André 3000 and Beyoncé, the track is a radical departure from the original, trading in Mark Ronson’s ’60s-inspired “Wall of Sound” production for a spare, synth-heavy sound, one reminiscent of vintage Portishead. Check out the song below, as well as the original from Amy Winehouse, and look for The Great Gatsby soundtrack to release May 7th. The film, meanwhile, is scheduled to hit theaters May 10th.
