Quality, well-made, timeless product. Australia’s Deus ex Machina and Indonesia’s Santalum know all about that as they’ve built their brands on that belief. The team at Deus, known for their custom motorcycles, believe that every “Iron-horse” rider needs a pair of boots that will not only protect them on their rides and open road journeys, but also one that will stand the test of time, one that will outlast any adventure. They reached out to the master shoemakers at Santalum to design a pair that does just that. The boot, which is said to be the toughest boots the brand has ever created, is formed from 2.2mm buffalo hide leather and tailored into a 7-hole steel capped boot. Construction was done using handmade Goodyear welting combined with double-row stitchdown. Last, but not least, the boot features a gusseted tongue, suede lining in the front toe and achilles and a double leather and rubber outsole. The process, from the initial cutting of the hide to the packaging, was beautifully captured by the Deus team to document the craftsmanship and skill that goes into building a single pair.
