In 2009, Tokyo Fixed Gear opened up its flagship store on Peter Street in Soho district of London. Fast forward four years, and the store became a landmark in London for bicycles and parts for urban cyclists. Furthermore, they established their own bicycle brand, Tokyo Fixed, expanding their venture into product design. Now, they have announced the closure of their Peter Street store and the Tokyo Fixed Gear brand.
Replacing its place is a much larger space on Golden Square in Soho, and a new shop name, Kinoko Custom Cycles. They aim to be the best destination for custom bicycles in England, stocking boutique bike brands such as Tonic Fabrications, Cherubim, Donhou, and Independent Fabrications. Kinoko Custom Cycles will keep inventory of quality mass-produced bicycles, parts, and apparel as well, making it a one-stop shop for enthusiasts of all kinds. Expect the new store to open sometime at the end of this month.
