Volkswagen Design Vision GTI Concept | Wörthersee 2013

For car nuts in America, there is the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas. And every summer, throng of automotive racing fans flock to Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. Not to be left out, car enthusiasts in Germany constituted their very own car show dubbed simply as Wörthersee. Among the heavy metal music, endless flowing beer on taps, and a sea of Volkswagen and Audi vehicles, Wörthersee is best characterized as a love fest of everything Past and Present from the “People’s Car.” There are also representations of things to come, like the Volkswagen Design Vision GTI Concept. A re-constituted 2014 VW Golf GTI, the concept features a brand new aero kit with an aggressive front fascia, redesigned air intakes, side skirts, and flared rear diffusers. Sport suspension and 20-inch alloy wheels help the car stay to the ground as its 503 horsepower, twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 engine, rip out 0 to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds. On the interior of this pocket rocket, a complete new appointment of Alcantara and carbon fiber, along with a full range digital readouts, sports steering wheel, and door handles like those found on Porsche. Capable of a top speed of 186 mph, the Volkswagen Design Vision GTI Concept will be making its rounds of car shows and festivals around the world this coming year. It will also serves as a promotional tool for the upcoming 2014 Volkswagen Golf GTI.
