The Nike Air Revolution is exactly the iconic shoe that comes to mind when imagining what NBA players had on their feet when they were simultaneously wearing the tightest shorts planet Earth had to offer (example seen here). After a 10-year recess, the Nike classic is back, new and improved. The Nike Air Revolution saw it’s original release in the late 80’s and perplexed viewers with its ski boot-like strap and unprecedented shock absorbing air bubble technology. Fun fact: the Air Jordan III, which saw the signature line’s first ever air bubble, was slated by designer Tinker Hatfield to be called the, Air Jordan Revolution. A nice piece of sneaker knowledge to know in case you ever wanted to stump a “sneakerhead”. In its third installment, the Air Revolution Retro will appease the older sneaker aficionado who will reminisce about the “glory days” and make fans of some of the new school collectors. Releasing in both the OG white/red and white/blue models, the Revolution is set to hit shelves this July 2013.
