With hype around the Tour de France ramping up in the weeks to come, leaders in the cycling business know that this is prime time to drop some slick new gear. Brooks, well-known for their leather saddles, is one of those companies, dropping this first non-leather saddle in a very long time. Made from a flexible natural rubber composite with an organic cotton tip and a nameplate and rivets you'd expect from Brooks. The outer layer is waterproof and the shape is available in a men's and women's model, creating what the brand hopes is a saddle more friendly to cows just as much as they are to your behind. Brooks is taking names for testers who want to be one of the first 100 to take the saddle for a spin; each with a numbered nose rivet. If you don't get one of the first 100, the non-numbered ones will quickly follow.
