Toyota Racing Development, TRD for short, is the division in Toyota that focuses on producing racecars and high-performance parts. Earlier this year, TRD launched the Toyota 86 TRD Griffon concept car, which was tuned for track racing. In order to increase its power-to-weight ratio dramatically, the Japanese company stripped the car down to 2,310 pounds, shaving around 500 pounds off the standard model. The stock engine was modified with performance parts, optimizing it for the track. A wide array of carbon fiber panels is equipped on the body, improving aerodynamics and weight reduction. If you are in England for Goodwood Festival of Speed, be sure to hunt down this model, which will be on display. Scroll down below to watch the video of the Griffon on the track.
