In one of the most contentious and hard fought NBA Championship in recent memories, the Miami Heat came away with the team's second straight championship earlier this evening, after a very close 95-88 Game 7 win against the San Antonio Spurs. And for the second straight year in a roll, the NBA Finals MVP title went to LeBron James, who in Game 7 alone scored a total of 37 points. From a historical perspective, only two other players before LeBron, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird, won both Regular-Season MVP and Finals MVP titles in the same season multiple times. And to distinguish this feat even further, only Michael Jordan and LeBron James won the titles consecutively, with Jordan in 1991 and 1992, James in 2012 and 2013.
Immediately after Miami Heat's win, Nike and Nike Basketball started a massive ad campaign to congratulate LeBron on his victory. Named "Leave a Message," the commercial aired across TV channels, digital and social media. Featuring a virtual voice mail with actual recordings from Spike Lee, Warren Buffet, Dr. Dre, Coach K, Phil Knight, Drake, Bill Russell and kids from The LeBron James Family Foundation, all to congratulate James. What's more, the ad is partially "interactive" and allows fans to leave their own personal messages for James. To participate, simply hit LeBron at 305-767-2226 and record your message.
