Nike Doernbecher 2007 Retro Air Max 95 by Mike Armstrong

The Nike Doernbecher Freestyle series is coming up on ten years now, and the Swoosh is celebrating the milestone by re-releasing classic styles in the weeks leading up to the 2013 collection. The first of five shoes coming back for a return engagement is this Nike Air Max 95 from 2007. Like all the shoes from the collection, this one is designed by a patient at the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. In this particular case, 15-year-old Mike Armstrong went with a stars-and-stripes theme for the Nike Air Max 95, reflecting a sense of patriotism bolstered by an older brother who served in Iraq. Like all shoes from the program, proceeds will benefit the Portland, Oregon, children’s hospital. Look for the kicks to launch July 6th at Nike.com and select Nike retail locations across the U.S.

Release Date: July 6th, 2013 (Saturday)
