Substantially muted in appearance, the all-black timepiece is devoid of any accents or markings. Instead, there are just two emblems: a white New Era flag logo on the dial face’s top and a hologram version when the EL backlighting is turned on.
What it lacks in adornment, the watch certainly makes up for in functionality. A model that first went into development in 1981, the DW-5600 was also one of the first designs to have completed the “Triple 10″ standard, a grueling protocol where http://casio.com/”>Casio engineers dropped the watch from 10 meters, submerged it under 10 bars of atmospheric pressure in water, and submitted it to a usage test equivalent to 10 years without a single battery replacement.
Limited in availability, the New Era x Casio G-Shock DW-5600VT Watch – 30th Anniversary Edition will be available soon through authorized retailers in the coming months.
