2014 Mazda Mazda3 Officially Unveiled

There is no need for a crystal ball to foretell its success in the near future. With the 2013 Mazda6 full-sized sedan already garnered plenty of accolades around the world, the automotive world will likely do the same to the just unveiled 2014 Mazda3. Officially announced through a series of worldwide events yesterday, including cities New York, London, Istanbul, Melbourne and St. Petersburg, the 2014 Mazda3 also celebrates the 10th years since the model’s introduction in 2003. Now with over 3.5 million sold in 120+ countries worldwide, Mazda hopes the legacy will continue with the all-new design.

Sharing the same KODO design DNA as the Mazda6, the new Mazda3 will be quipped with either the SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter or SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter engines. Known to have one of the highest engine compression ratio in the industry, the SKYACTIV-G powerplants are capable of optimizing fuel combustion level and allow greater fuel efficiency. Coupled that with a series of new safety features like i-ACTIVSENSE radar/laser detection system, the Mazda3 is bound to be one of the safest on the road when its available starting this fall.

While there are no details on the performance specs at this time, Mazda did release plenty of eye-catching images, which you’ll see after the jump…
