Earlier today we gave you a glimpse of the upcoming adidas by Rick Owens Spring/Summer 2014 Collection and now we’re bringing you the full affect of the designer’s namesake line as seen off the runway of Paris’ Fashion Week. Heralded as fashion’s “grunge-meets-glamour” talent, Rick Owens has created a line of functional drapery not unlike the uniform of a mad scientist. Lab coat-length jackets and blazers swayed unrestrictedly across the stage in Owen’s hallmark color of intense black as a live band performed behind them. And while oversized pieces played a significant role in the Spring 2014 Collection, other outfits showcased leather-made garments and transparent, mesh tops accented with a side zipper. The shorts and pants, on the other hand, were fashioned to attract less attention, save for the fringe-covered shorts that were modelled as an entire look by itself. And when it came to footwear, Owens’ collaboration with adidas provided the best complement to his runway show: Chunky, white sneakers unencumbered by superfluous shoestrings kept each outfit looking bold and domineering.
