Based out of Istanbul, Turkey, photographer Cihan Ünalan has unveiled a unique project that explores a preoccupation with fictional heroes and their cars. The series is entitled “Cars We Love,” and features images of the various iterations of the Batmobile – including the groovy ’60s original, Tim Burton’s winged machine and the Tumbler from the Dark Knight trilogy — as well as the Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1 wagon and Doc Brown/Marty McFly’s time-traveling DeLorean from Back to the Future. In a surprising twist, Ünalan used toy cars as the models, adjusting the lighting and employing an expert touch to create images that seem to depict the real thing.
