The promotional onslaught for Jay-Z’s Magnat Carta Holy Grail has featured black-and-white video vignettes of the album’s making (the http://freshnessmag.com/2013/06/28/jay-z-and-samsung-release-new-jay-z-blue-commercial/” target=”_blank”>latest saw Jay-Z ruminating on fatherhood as he discussed the track “Jay Z Blue”), as well as a http://freshnessmag.com/2013/07/03/jay-z-magna-carta-holy-grail-cover-art/” target=”_blank”>novel unveiling of the cover art through an installation at Salisbury Cathedral, home of the original Magna Carta. The third prong in the marketing blitz is a series of black and white photographs by Ari Marcopoulos, showcasing unguarded moments during Jay-Z’s recording sessions. While we wait for the release of the full collaboration, a sampling of Marcopoulos’ photos were previewed in Times Square in New York.
