While it’s name may be confusing, the power behind this latest from Subaru is in your face. Releasing as a Japan-only model, the Subaru WRX STI tS Type RA is going to be capped to a maximum of 300 units and is based on the four-door WRX STI spec C, but all of the latest attention was paid to the car’s suspension system. While horsepower figures will be staying the same, Subaru sought out to enhance its “strength and nimbleness,” including a new STI-tuned suspension with new struts, springs, and dampers as well as a faster steering ratio (11:1) and finished with stop-on-a-dime Brembo six-pot brake calipers. Externally, the car picks up a new front lip spoiler, black accents, and your choice of a Tangerine Orange Pearl, Satin White, or Blue Mica paint job. The majority of those built will also ship with the optional NBR Challenge Package that adds Recardo bucket seats, a new carbon fiber spoiler, and 18-inch BBS aluminum wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tires. While pricing won’t be released until later this year, you can view additional preview shots right now after the click.
