First shown at the 2012 Paris Motor Show last fall as a concept prototype, the Bentley Continental GT3 Race Car will finally make its first public debut at this week’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. Powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, a dedicated team of engineers fine-tuned the powerplant into race-ready configuration. With all the premium amenities removed, Bentley added a racing-spec 6-speed sequential gearbox, along with competition braking system, four-way adjustable dampers, double wishbone suspension, and carbon fiber panelings. With all the trimming and adjustments, the racer’s overall weight is 12% of the original road-going Continental GT.
While no detailed information about its performance are available at this time, the Bentley Continental GT3 will most likely participate in the FIA Group GT3 racing series in 2014.
