Perhaps no one epitomize Los Angeles’ leisure lifestyle better than designer James Perse. Scion to the trendsetting LA boutique Maxfield, Perse happened onto fashion when he couldn’t find a baseball cap to his liking. That was in 1991. Three years later, Perse expanded the line to include his now signature t-shirt, quickly followed by women’s knitwear two years afterward. By 1998, Perse completed his namesake fashion label with apparel for men, women, children, as well as toddlers. The brand’s rapid growth signified a demand for leisure wear that were both luxurious and minimalistic, or as Perse stated “low maintenance high fashion.”
Perfect for a beach front stroll down in Santa Monica, a yoga lesson overlooking the bluff of Laguna Beach, or a quick errand run at Downtown Los Angeles, James Perse’s new collection for Pre-Fall 2013 is now available at its boutiques across US, Canada, England, and Japan. The collection is also available at BARNEYS NEW YORK, Maxfield, and James Perse online store.
