Jaguar dealers and fans alike have just begun to get acquainted with the new 2013 Jaguar F-Type and the British brand is already rolling out a very sexy, sporting concept of it. Called the Project 7 and set for an international unveiling at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Friday, this low-profile speedster is an one-off single-seater capable of easily hitting 186 mph before its electric limiters kick in. Even though the model is being kept within the confines of the concept department, the brand is still going to put the 5-liter supercharged V-8 through its pacing on the track at Goodwood, which is very fitting with Jaguar's knack for not just letting their stars collect dust.
Although it is named in honor of their seven wins at LeMans in the later half of the 20th Century, its technology is all futuristic, including a full aluminum body and spoilers, splitters, and air-channels all molded from carbon fiber. Even its styling, which hearkens back to the Jag D-type racer from the '50's has been tweaked for today, including more curves and length. Simply put, as stated by Jaguar's top designer, "it has one purpose: to be driven fast and enjoyed." At least we can do the second part from a distance.
