2013 is setting up to be a highlight year in automaking. In this month alone, we’ve seen the BMW Concept Active Tourer, the Jag Project 7 Concept, and the retro, open-top Caterham 620R. Now Citroën enters the fray with the DS3 Cabrio Racing Concept, joining the Caterham for a 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed unveiling later this week. In essence, the DS3 is a car that combines the sporty feel of its Racing cousin with the city sophistication of its Cabrio kin mixed with a few new upgrades. The Concept features bespoke Moondark matte textured grey paint with black chrome accents, all atop 19-inch alloy wheels in a matching black gloss. Inside, bucket seats provide comfort along with three types of fabric (Napa full-grain leather, DS-embossed leather, and Alcantara), and Carmin red for the dashboard, gearshift, and side door strips. Under the hood, you’ll find a turbocharged, six-speed manual 1.6-liter engine that delivers an impressive 202 hours. All together, expect this to be a lively and agile addition to the Citroën line-up in the coming years.
