LeBron James Visits Imperial Ancestral Temple in Beijing for Nike Basketball Tour

In a setting much like the night when Miami Heat claimed the NBA Championship title, ravenous fans cheered on as LeBron James descended from Beijing’s Imperial Ancestral Temple last night. A culmination of Nike Summer Nights and James’ annual Asia tour for Nike Basketball, the gathering was also the climax of a week-long event which saw thousands of youth competing for supremacy in Dongcheng District, Xicheng District, Haidian District, and Chaoyang District… four of Beijing’s most populous neighborhoods. After rounds of elimination, only 112 participants from 16 teams in the four sports of basketball, soccer, running, and women’s fitness were able to face one another at Imperial Ancestral Temple as member of “Nike Beijing All-Star Team.”

Together with pop-star Christine Fan, James helped to kick-off the festivities and acted as a sideline cheerleader for the many involved. When necessary, the MVP also showcased some of his skill sets as tutorial to the young players. The LeBron China Tour for 2013 continues at the city of Wuhan tomorrow.
