TRACE – Advanced Activity Monitor for Action Sports | By ActiveReplay

By - July 31st, 2013

After years of trying, along with several trips to the emergency room, you finally nailed a perfect switch frontside 720 on your deck. You are super stoked about it, except no one else was there to witness your moment of triumph. All that may be a thing of the past thanks to TRACE, an activity monitor designed with action sports in mind. Think of it as the Nike FuelBand or the Polar Heart Rate Monitor for skateboarding, snowboarding, and surfing, TRACE by ActiveReplay allows you record your every tricks from how many kickflips you did, how high was that ollie, to your vert, 360s, turns, and etc… With stats on your iPhone or Android devices in real-time, you can review your runs or share them with fellow riders.

Wireless transmission through Bluetooth 4.0 protocol, TRACE is no larger than a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and mounts on any hard surface. Waterproof, shockproof, and nearly indestructible, TRACE is the creation of Dr. Anatole Lokshin, former CTO of Magellan Navigation, and his son David, an active surfer, skater, and snowboarder who happens to be a Harvard grad with a degree in Applied Mathematics. Together along with a team of dedicated engineers, programmers, and really, really smart folks, they hope to change the way we view action sports.

TRACE by ActiveReplay is now on KICKSTARTER with a goal of $150,000. You can “back” this project starting at $2. Pledge $99 or more and you will receive TRACE right off the pre-production line. Check out its dedicated page for more details.
