Nowadays, we take all of the technology woven into our runners for granted, but there was a time when all of these innovations were new to the sneakerworld, revolutionizing what role our footwear played in our training. adidas has always been a major player in pushing the limits of sneaker design, including their use of premium materials, 3M reflective heels tabs, and the right mix of suede, mesh, and rubber to help extend our legs’ shelf-life. The Phantom model, when it dropped in the early ’80’s, captured the essence of this drive and wowed the running community helping to spur on the jogging boom. For Fall/Winter 2013, adidas Originals re-releases the vintage look once again, coming in a range of seasonal colors across its OG build, which includes a mix of suede and mesh, a straight-edged Three Stripes, and a slanted midsole. Look out for the pack to drop at select adidas Originals retailers in the coming months in your choice of navy, grey, maroon, and black. Until then find them in more detail after the click.
