Overachievers have a certain camaraderie with one another and you will find no better example of that than in the three co-founders of IVI Eyewear (aka IVI Vision). Let us start off with Pete Fox, CEO of Fox Racing, a leading supplier of accessories and parts for action sports racing. Then there is Jerome Mage, the former creative director of Spy Optic and a driven designer behind Skullcandy headphones, Burton‘s Anon google line, Frends audio accessories and more… Finally, add Rob Dyrdek, the serial world records breaker, skateboarder, actor, and MTV host, into the mix. Along with contributors like Mazzucchelli 1849, the Italian company who first realized the potential of thermoplastic polymer in fashion accessories, and lens maker Carl Zeiss, IVI capitalize the niche between the demands of action sports and the needs of causal lifestyle.
After a soft launch back in 2012, IVI hosted its official “coming out” party on warm April evening at New York City’s trendy Bowery Hotel. Together with pro-skater & IVI ambassador Austyn Gillette, the brand also took the opportunity to welcome Leigh Lezark as its newest spokesperson. Part of the DJ collective known as The Misshapes, Lezark (now sporting a cute strawberry blond hairdo) doubles as fashion model for Chanel, H&M, Zac Posen, adidas Originals, Jeremy Scott, just to name a few. The celebratory atmosphere also saw honored guests Dave Oritz (Dave’s Wear House), skater/photographer Alex Corporan (author of Full Bleed), and marketing guru Brian Garofalow among the few “try-on stations” dotted across the venue floor. The festive evening had plenty of surprises in store as well, including free gifts and a special DJ set by The Misshapes.
IVI Eyewear is now available at select action sports boutiques, lifestyle stores, and eyewear providers across the 50 states. The collection is also available through several online retailers, including IVI’s official site at shop.ivivision.com.
