It's not often you find a collaboration with this type of history, which is why it's fitting for SEIKO to mark their 30th Anniversary with famed car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro with a special edition timepiece. Over the course of their 30 year history, the duo has created numerous watches with the most famous being the SEIKO Giugiaro Speedmaster. Immediately recognizable by its asymmetrical case design and red and black colorway, the watch is the essence of style and forward-thinking design, so much so that it even appeared on the wrist of the android Bishop in the 1986 film Aliens. Based on its original design, SEIKO has just unveiled a limited edition SEIKO x Giugiaro Design chronograph with a 40.8mm steel case that is shaped to match the original. The function buttons on the side are equally as large allowing for ease of use by drivers wearing gloves, all powered by a quartz 7T12 movement. Only 200-500 models (depending on color) each will be made in this and 5 other colorways and will be available at select Seiko retailers for ¥33,400 - ¥33,600 JPY (or about $300 - $350 USD).
