At a press event today in New York’s Lincoln Center, LG unveiled its newest flagship handset, the LG G2. Running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the device packs a whopping 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display and a blazing fast 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor under the hood. Additional features include a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (as well as a 2.1MP front-facing shooter), a non-removable 3,000mAh battery (good for 1.2 days of use), 2GB of RAM and your choice of 16GB or 32GB internal storage. The G2 measures 5.45 inches tall by 2.79 inches wide by 0.3-inch thick, its sleek design highlighted by volume and power buttons that have been repositioned to the back of the device. Notable software features include AnswerMe, which answers incoming calls when you put the phone up to your ear, and KnockOn, allowing users to turn on their phones by tapping the G2’s screen twice. Another useful feature, Text Link, creates links for apps within text messages, meaning users can save events to their calendar, search the web or pull up a map directly from text messages. The G2 will launch in South Korean in the next two months, with U.S. availability to follow.
