http://pps.k12.pa.us/allderdice”>Taylor Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania–this was where hip-hop artist http://wizkhalifa.com/”>Wiz Khalifa developed an affinity for CONVERSE Chuck Taylor All Stars. In fact, the name “Taylor” has such resonance for the young rapper that he named his label http://taylorgang.net/”>Taylor Gang Records and added it as a middle name for his son, Sebastian Taylor Thomaz.
To reward such devotion, http://converse.com/”>CONVERSE made the announcement today of its addition of the CONVERSE Chuck Taylor All Star Wiz Khalifa Collection for Fall 2013. A total of 12 new styles, divided evenly between two silhouettes, the classic CONVERSE Chuck Taylor All Star and the fashion-forward CONVERSE Chuck Taylor All Star Swag, the collection features many design elements unique to the collaboration. Wiz kept it true to the original on his CONVERSE Chuck Taylor All Star designs, though they still bear some of the finer details, including the “WK” leather signature tab, laser-etched “WIZ” eyelets and waxed laces. On the CONVERSE Chuck Taylor All Star Swag Hi, in addition to the premium accents, Wiz added more details like the embossed “CONVERSE” lettering, studs, and “canimal” (camouflage/animal) canvas prints.
In a statement, Wiz said “I’ve always gravitated toward Converse because of how solid the brand is. It’s clean and it’s classic.” Wiz also added “I was excited to collaborate with the team at Converse because I felt they really got my individual style and vision. The sneakers in my collection are dope and I’m excited to share them with my fans.” Priced between $60 to $85 USD, the Wiz Khalifa x CONVERSE Chuck Taylor All Star Collection, with CONVERSE Chuck Taylor All Star and CONVERSE Chuck Taylor All Star Swag, will be available on Friday, August 23rd, through http://footlocker.com/”>Foot Locker, http://footaction.com/”>FOOTACTION, and CONVERSE retail locations across the US.
