Last night at the http://mtv.com/ontv/vma/” target=”_blank”>2013 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West took to the stage for the first time ever at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, delivering a visually arresting rendition of “Blood on the Leaves” from his chart topping-album Yeezus. It would be performance no. 7 for West, tying him with Madonna for most live performances in the history of the VMAs. During most of the song, Yeezy was seen simply as a dark silhouette on stage, appearing in front of a forest backdrop that depicted a tree “used for lynching,” according to the rapper’s personal http://kanyewest.com/” target=”_blank”>website.
