Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute Blacksteel Limited Edition WatchOn May 24, 2062, Lt Commander Scott Carpenter orbited the Earth three times inside the Aurora 7 capsule and on his wrist was Breitling’s frist ever Navitimer. Now, the first watch to ever accompany a man into space receives a much-deserved update, coming in the form of a limited edition 1,000-unit run that continues in the spirit of discovery and innovation, just as it did over 50 years ago. The watch features a 24-hour graduation – a necessity while in space – and a black steel case that is made up of a high-wear resistant carbon-based coating paired with a high-performance chronograph, luminescent indications, and small read hands winding within the dial. Driving all the functions is Breitling’s Caliber B02 movement, which also powers the 30-minute and 12-hour registers, capable of running with a 70 hour power reserve. The watch also features a black rubber strap and the Aurora 7 mission insignia on the back, a nice tribute to the watch’s roots. If you want one, you’ll find it with an out-of-this-world price tag of $9,590 directly from http://breitling.com/en/news/details/navitimer-cosmonaute-blacksteel-1254″ target=”_blank”>Breitling.
