As if there was any doubt about Mercedes-Benz‘s racing prowess, they’d now like to introduce you to their new CLA 45 AMG Racing Series at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. After it’s white glove unveiling, the CLA 45 will quickly get down and dirty, entering racing series like the upcoming German VLN competition. Based on the standard CLA 45 AMG, MB begins with a carbon fiber aero package, a racing-tuned interior, and new suspension and braking systems. For improved stability at high speeds – and a more aggressive stance – the CLA 45 AMG also appears with a wide carbon-fiber wing. Under its hood, the new CLA 45 AMG has the same engine found in the production model, which is an AMG-built 2.0-liter turbo. In the stock model, the engine produces 360 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque pushing it to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds and up to a top speed of 155 mph. Mercedes said that the car’s specs and speeds can vary based to the race rules and race series, so expect these to change based on who the buyer is.
