In an ode to the most hardcore cartoon-family ever, Jeremy Scott has created a Spring/Summer 2014 Menswear Collection that would turn the minds of Bedrock’s wholesome citizens upside down. Apparently in Scott‘s alternate universe, Fred Flintstone would dress like the badass private detective Shaft instead of like an operator at the Slate Rock and Gravel Company and his best friend, Barney Rubble, would take on a jive-talking persona like Huggy Bear from the 1970s cop series Starsky and Hutch.
As derived from the runway show, Scott intrepidly indulges in wacky looks such as flashy yellow tiger-print blazers accented with shiny black silk, red snakeskin pants tied up with skinny strings, a matching bomber jacket and zippered pants set, and a Pepto-Bismol pink, three-piece ensemble with a lacquer finish. Bold color blocking along long-sleeved printed tops and punctuated plastic pants mark the collection as continual examples of Scott’s ability to draw viewers in with intriguing details.
The eccentric ready-to-wear presentation showcases just another season of Scott’s enviable talent to take something fun and upgrade it to yaba-daba-du delicious.
