We recently had a chance to visit the Footlocker location in Times Square to take a look and experience the recently unveiled New Balance 574 Kiosk. Featuring two design stations, the kiosk allows the consumer to customize their own pair of 574s via a touch screen display and share their creation with their social networks immediately through the interface. Using the the hash tag #NB574Approved grants the user the opportunity to also have their work featured on the Footlocker Unlocked 574 page In addition to the stations, the kiosk also features color swatches, material references, and completed customs to both inspire and educate the user. With the vast amount of colors and materials, there is roughly 48 billion design options so let your imagination run wild.
If you’re in New York City and near Times Square, come out and experience the kiosk for yourself. The cost to get your shoes made is $140 and you receive the shoes in 6 to 10 business days which is extremely fast considering custom orders take several weeks from other companies. The speed advantage comes from the shoes being made in the good ol’ US of A at the New Balance factory in Maine. Unfortunately, no overseas customs are available yet. With that said, take a look at the images of the kiosk below as well as a preview of our Freshness x New Balance 574.
